PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional body and beauty treatments while ensuring a high-end, memorable guest experience in line with standards. The role focuses on professional treatment delivery, guest wellbeing, and maintaining a calm, welcoming spa environment while supporting smooth day-to-day spa operations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• National Diploma in Somatology or equivalent qualification (ITEC, CIDESCO or similar)
• 3–5 years’ spa therapy experience, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of massage, body and beauty treatments
• Experience in Reflexology and Aromatherapy
• Excellent guest service and communication skills
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Professional grooming and presentation standards
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and organisational ability
• Physical stamina to perform treatments and work on your feet for long periods
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Guest Experience & Treatment Delivery
• Deliver all spa treatments to the highest professional standards
• Conduct guest consultations and tailor treatments where required
• Ensure treatment rooms are fully prepared and presented before guest arrival
• Maintain guest comfort, privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Promote spa treatments, wellness packages and retail products professionally
• Provide aftercare advice and product recommendationsSpa Preparation & Facility Standards
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and spa areas daily
• Ensure all spa spaces are clean, organised and aligned with luxury standards
• Restock towels, robes, refreshments and guest amenities
• Monitor cleanliness of treatment rooms, bathrooms and wellness areas
• Report maintenance or repair issues promptlyHygiene, Health & Safety
• Follow strict hygiene, sanitation and safety protocols at all times
• Clean and sterilise all equipment and tools after each treatment
• Ensure proper storage and handling of oils, products and spa supplies
• Maintain compliance with spa operating procedures and standards
• Conduct regular deep cleaning of treatment areas and equipmentCommunication & Spa Coordination
• Communicate effectively with reception, therapists and lodge departments
• Assist with booking updates and daily schedule coordination
• Confirm appointments and support smooth guest flow through the spa
• Communicate guest preferences, feedback and special requests to management
• Assist with VIP guests and group bookings where requiredStock Control & Administration
• Monitor product usage and minimise wastage
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks
• Support basic administrative duties and spa checklists as requiredTraining & Professional Development
• Continuously improve treatment techniques and product knowledge
• Participate in training sessions and workshops
• Stay updated on wellness trends and spa industry standards
• Develop knowledge of oils, therapies and retail productsTeamwork & General Responsibilities
• Work collaboratively with spa and lodge team members
• Support colleagues during busy operational periods
• Assist with additional duties as required by management
• Uphold the spa’s luxury brand standards at all times
